Single Cylinder compressed air engine of my design.
Includes a poppet style valve and uniflow exhaust |
 |
Horizontal compressed air engine. Also features a
poppet style valve and when finished, will operate as a hit n miss engine
with a flywheel mounted governor system much like the old farm engines. |
 |
Stuart 10H reciprocating steam engine |
 |
Finger Treadle Engine |
 |
Vertical oscillating steam engine. Includes an
epicyclic gear train on the connecting rod which makes the flywheel spin
twice for each vertical stroke. |
  |
Electric solenoid engine. The base contains an 18 volt
step down transformer and a bridge rectifier to convert the current to DC.

Two small compressed air engines from the book "Elmer's
Engines" Both have a 3/8" bore, the one on the left is a single
cylinder, the one on the right is a twin cylinder. In both engines, a
flat on the crankshaft acts as the valving mechanism. |
 |
Hit n Miss internal combustion engine of my design. It
has a 1" bore and about a 1.25" stroke. A motorcycle coil and
rechargeable batteries are contained in the wooden base. |
 |
Simple oscillating compressed air engine. |
 |
Small Horizontal compressed air engine. The valving
system is in the crankshaft and air is ported to the cylinder through
the horizontal beam connecting the crank to the cylinder. |
 |
This is a model of a John Deere engine that runs on
compressed air. It features poppet style overhead valves and uniflow
exhaust ports at the base of the cylinders. |
 |
Stirling engine of my design. Engine stands about 12"
high. |
  |
This is a 4 stroke, twin cylinder engine I'm building from
an antique Ritter Dental air compressor. The bore is 1" and the
strok is 1.5". Since the pistons are 180 degrees apart, the engine
should sound like an old John Deere twin engine. |
